Thoughts on the system and on the Core version licence.

ExpressionEngine is the first blogging/content management system that simply makes complete sense to me from the beginning. I was amazed that they even support a free version with very little restrictions.
From the licence:
“Core License Users are required to display a “powered by ExpressionEngine” link or graphic on their publicly accessible site, pointing to http://www.expressionengine.com/ .”
I think that’s a nice touch in the licence. Every free user should under the licence promote ExpressionEngine and thus potentially create more users, free and paying. Commercial sites may often wish not to publicly show what they are using as their site backend. I do think that expressionengine is powerful enough to persuade most users to put a link to their site even without the bit in the licence.
